Hi,
It is so hard to believe that Progress Reports went home today. The year is on the move and so is seventh grade.
We are busy with Book Reports and Matter experiments and it won't be long until we work with our second grade science buddies.
Fundraiser sheets need to be in by Sept. 28.
In 6th grade Science, we are learning about the planets and constellations. If you beat the rain to the parking lot this past Monday you may have seen the Solar System created by 6th grade.
In 8th grade Science, we are studying the cell and getting prepared to look at bone, muscle, blood and skin cells from a chicken wing.
In 7th grade Science, we are studying matter, density and volume. We have been doing measurements using the Metric tools.
Book reports are due Oct. 20
Science Quarter Projects for grades 7&8 are due Oct. 16
Picture Day is Sept. 29.
Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather.
Have a good week!

First thing I heard this morning was my alarm going off, KMOX coming on and announcing it was 09/09/09. Interesting date and not likely to come around again in a long time.
I just wanted to say that the school year is off to a great start! The students are wonderful, cooperative and so much fun!
Seventh & eighth grades were given their sheets on their first quarter science projects. They will be due on Oct. 16.
Sixth & seventh grade students should be reading their books for their book reports. A specific report has not yet been given because I wanted to give them time to concentrate on reading their book.
Remember Friday, Sept. 11 is Patriotic Day. Students may wear jeans or uniform shorts. They should wear a red, white or blue shirt. Please no team or sports jerseys for this day.
There will be a server practice with Deacon Jerry this Sunday, Sept. 13 @ 1:00. It should last around an hour and a half. It is for students in grades 4 - 8 who would like to serve at St. Augustine's during the week and on Sundays.
I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather!
