Science Fair/Carnival Success!

The Science Fair/Carnival was a big success and many  congratulations go to our students for their hard work and dedication. We had some very fun Carnival projects this year and I believe it was one of our best Carnivals.

A special thanks to the Scott Air Force Base Society of American Military Engineers for their support.

Book Reports for the 6th Grade have been turned in and the 7th Grade reports are due on March 17th.

We are Parents!!!! The seventh- second Science buddies are the proud parents of a baby chick! Although we had some others that didn't quite make it, this little guy is getting lots of love and attention. We hope to receive another batch of eggs soon and maybe we will add to our number of chicks.

The Seventh Grade is almost finished with their Apostle project. While learning about the apostles we will be making a "quilt" to display our information.

We have also been studying the Beatitiudes in our Religion class .

The third quarter ends this week and I can't believe how quickly this year has passed.

This last quarter will find us very busy and planning a SMSA "first" with the Energy Club's Earth Day Festival.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

November!!!

November is here and finally the sun! It is great to see it.

Fire Dept. will be here on Tuesday for an assembly.

Wednesday is early dismissal due to a faculty meeting.

Sixth & Seventh  Literature classes need to read a Biography for this quarter's Book report.

It beginning to look a lot like Christmas, at least in 7th grade Lit. We will begin to read the drama "A Christmas Carol" this week. The students will read the play and then we will watch the 1952 version of the movie. This will end up being pretty close to Christmas' as it is a very long play.

Seventh & second have begun their cooperative science classes this week. We are working on our Ocean unit and we are off to a good start.

Have a good week.

Don't forget Parent - Teacher conferences next Tuesday.
